Big boy bed

We recently converted Oliver's crib to a toddler bed. Its pretty darn cute to see him crawl in and out of it. He still falls out in his sleep at least once a night, but he doesn't have far to fall. He'll learn not to do that soon right? Simply telling the squirm worm not to squirm hasn't worked so far.

Where did you get that bed? What do you do when he falls out? Does he crawl back up by himself?

Ikea baby, Ikea. And the bedding tool. Sometimes he falls back to sleep on the floor as if he didn't wake up. Sometimes he cries so I go in there and rock him back to sleep. Other times he walks into our room. There is a learning curve with everything I guess. I've heard that there are inserts that you put between the mattress and the frame that creates a wall so they won't fall out. But wouldn't defeat the purpose of learning to sleep in a big bed? I'm open to ideas.

The bed looks comfy! Oliver is our trailblazer and we love seeing how you guys figure out these big things first and when.

We recently switched Ona to her "big girl bed" (funny, how we all use the same terms instinctively). she was falling out every night too and several times, so we just put her crib mattress on the floor and will go back to the frame later. she still rolls off the crib mattress, but it's a much shorter fall. i would guess that she sleeps on the floor about 2-3 hrs every night before i go in and put her back on the mattress. it makes me feel horrible, but i think every kid goes through it. she's been sick this week, so she's waking up a bit more and requiring more soothing to get back to bed. jeff and i have taken turns sleeping on the floor next to her crib for an hour or so. it is NOT comfy.

Oliver has stopped falling out finally! I would say that the falling out period lasted about 3 weeks. No more guilt for me.
