Hiking

Yesterday we went for a hike in the hills outside of Spokane. It was a beautiful fall day with the colors on the trees are really starting to change. Oliver was such a good baby, not a single protest in the 2.5 hours it took us to climb up and over the ridges. The highlight for him was the helicopter that hovered directly over our heads for a minute before doing a nosedive over some rock formations. It was pretty cool. I would have taken a photo or two but the battery in our camera was dead. Of course.

Fall is officially here

We took Oliver to a local apple orchard that has a pumpkin patch smack dab in the middle of the rows. I'm not sure there is anything that smells of fall quite like that. We gave Oliver one of the freshly plucked apples as a prop for the picture, and he dug right in as if he had more than 3.5 teeth. Imagine if we'd given him the pumpkin.

I want to be taken seriously

Watching airplanes

Oliver loves to watch and listen to airplanes fly overhead. When we are outside playing he spends alot of the time looking up into the sky to see what is making all that racket. He's pretty facinated with loud trucks too. Typical boy I guess.

The Gods Must Be Crazy

Oliver's favorite toys have been items from the recycling bin, specifically empty two liter bottles. Interestingly, he has shown a preference for Coke over Pepsi.

Steady Now

Our little boy is now crawling everywhere and pulling himself up on anything with leverage. He has pretty good balance, but occasionally will do a header onto the floor. And because he hasn't figured out how to get down from his standing position, he does this alot.

Blueberries? I didn't eat the blueberries!

I'm not sure who's having more fun

Good Morning

Labor Day Weekend

We spent the weekend on the west side visiting Anthony's family. We celebrated Maggie's birthday, ate some good food, visited with family and squeezed in a run and bike ride. Oliver played A LOT with his cousins Riley, Emma, Maggie and Molly. He's one very lucky and loved boy!

Riley and Oliver - those Ochs' genes are strong!

We packed some of Oliver's favorite toys for the road trip, one of which is our old coffee filter. Starbucks may have a new market.

The ride home with Oliver......again with the coffee filter. No expensive toys needed for this boy.
