Estelle's first bite
Now that Estelle is five months old, we figured we might as well see if she is ready for real food. We baked a sweet potato and mashed it up. Easy as that. She ate two small bowls of it, she couldn't get enough. I'd say she's ready. Turns out she's got quite an appetite. Not much of a surprise given her genetic makeup.

Pumpkins
Kickin' it in the stroller.
That would be Oliver flying the yellow airplane. Pumpkin patches aren't just about pumpkins these days. Its about digging a hole in dad's wallet and making the kids so tired and cranky you HAVE to stop at the store on the way home for a 6 pack. Have to.
Oliver thought that since he's 4 now, he should be as tall as the 4. Hard to argue with that logic.

Oregon Coast trip
Last week we took a road trip to the Oregon Coast. We rented a house in Manzanita to relax, get away from the laundry pile, let Oliver dig his toes in the sand and enjoy time away as a family. It was wonderful and beautiful. You never know what the weather will be like on the coast. We were extremely lucky , warm and dry! And I'm happy to report that Estelle is class A traveler. We'll take her many places and its good to know she can hang.
Friends and family
Since Estelle was born, we have had a slew of friends and family come from miles around to visit us. It has been wonderful to share her with so many people. We feel very fortunate! And we are ready for more!

Friends
Estelle met her friend Charlotte Orehovec last week, when her and her mom Kelly came for a visit. Charlotte and Estelle are only 9 months apart and in a couple of years I bet they'll be sharing secrets, telling each other stories, laughing at jokes and sharing many adventures together. Just like their moms.

One month already?
Right now I feel that time is my enemy. I have a few short months before I go back to work and although 8 weeks sounds like a long time for a vacation, trust me it is not when you have a baby. Estelle is already one month old as of yesterday. What? Yes, you read that right. One month. She is growing like a weed on my super baby food and she has changed so much already. She is lifting her head and smiling back at us. I'm savoring every waking moment right now, because soon I'll be daydreaming about her while I'm at work. Time is not on my side.

Sweet siblings
Unfortunately the date shows up on these photos. Otherwise they are just about perfect. Stupid sexy camera. I'm still learning how to use the thing obviously.

Estelle Loa
On June 28th at 7:20am we welcomed Estelle Loa into this world. We are in love with her and can't wait to share her with all of our friends and family. She is an incredible eater and sleeper, no complaints filed at this point. Oliver is stepping into his role of big brother relatively smoothly. He has already helped give her a bath and wants to hold her all the time. Our family is now a "table for 4" as they say in the restaurant biz.

36 weeks and I feel like a whale
They say there is a baby girl in my belly, but lately she has felt more like a monkey doing flips and somersaults. This birth couldn't come any quicker at this point. I assure you the smile on my face is fake.
Summer is finally here
Eating fresh strawberries at the farmer's market.
A recent zoo trip where Oliver was captivated by the walruses.
I believe he just crawled out of what looks like a giant anemone, also at the zoo.
Planting our garden!!!
